Valentine's Day

Ah, Valentine's Day...A day of romance, a day of love, a day of being with your significant other...a day of CHOCOLATE! YUM!
To start the holiday off right, I have created some tasty looking treats in the form of CAKE POPS! Surprise right? lol.

One of my favorite candies on Valentine's Day was always the little Sweetheart candies with the sayings on them, so here are MY versions!
And who can resist a homemade "Hershey Kiss"?
NOT ME!

KISSES AND MORE KISSES!

And to end it out, something sinfully simple like regular cake "truffles."
If you would like to order any of these treats for someone on Valentine's day, please contact me before Feb. 8th so that I have plenty of time to get your order completed! Thanks and happy lover's day!

Sweet 16

I will admit. This order was difficult for me. I don't know if I was just over-thinking it too much, or if my creativity really was tapped out temporarily. When the client asked for Sweet 16 cake pops and told me to be "creative" with them, I drew a total blank.
I asked the typical questions: what's their favorite color, what hobbies do they have, and what things do they like in general...

The first response was: She likes purple. This is how the above cake pops came about. Plain purple pops with pastel sprinkles on top.
Next came: She likes Lady Gaga, shopping and driving.

You won't find anything Lady Gaga here, but I ran with the shopping and driving concept. Here we have a red high heel shoe, a Nebraska license plate, a Coach purse, cell phone, a birthday cake and like all 16 year old girls should have on their birthday, a tiara.
I asked around to many other people about what ideas I could use for a sweet 16 birthday, and most people came back with the princess theme. I didn't want to run with that for 2 reasons: one being, I don't know the girl well enough to know if she's girly or not, and two: the princess theme to me is way too overdone. But, I did include a tiara just for the fact that if she IS a girly girl, she'll love it.

These three were my favorite ones out of the 6 creative ones I did. I gotta give credit to a couple of friends that came up with the license plate idea-
Thanks AJ and Dani!

"Gotcha Day"

I know, it's been a while since I last posted. I guess you could say it's been a slow month, or that I took a bit of a vacation? But now I'M BACK!
I was contacted a few weeks ago to create an arrangement for a client and her family celebrating "Gotcha Day".
For those of you who don't know what that means: the client and her family adopted a chinese girl years ago, so every year they celebrate the day they "Got" her. I think that is the coolest thing in the world!

Speaking of world...the client asked for plain red cake pops in honor of her daughters chinese heritage and she wanted them arranged in a half sphere that looked like the world. I couldn't find a sphere large enough, so I did one better, I bought a big flower pot and painted the world on it and then arranged all the pops in the pot. It still just didn't look like enough to me, so I made the 2 flags honoring both heritages together and stuck them in the top. The client was very pleased!
