Cupcakes!

I'm expanding my portfolio. I love making cake pops and the occasional birthday cakes, but it seems that here lately, (and I'm totally blaming this on Wilton) cake pops have exploded. They have become uber popular due to Wilton's new cake pop book and cake pop supplies. So, now that everyone seems to be making cake pops of the plain and specialty variety, I need to step it up a notch and expand my portfolio. I have been working on some new flavors of cake and cupcakes, more sugar cookies and birthday cakes/wedding cakes, and other yummy desserts: cheesecakes, cheesecake stuffed strawberries, fruit tarts, cream puffs, etc.... I've also been playing around with the idea of dessert buffets for weddings, birthdays and baby showers/bridal showers!
So, back to the task at hand, to kick start my new line of desserts, here are 2 of my newest flavors:
This one is just in time for St. Patty's Day! I call it an Irish Car Bomb cupcake although, I think my co-workers call it OMG. lol. It is a chocolate Guinness cupcake filled with a chocolate gananche infused with Bailey's Irish Cream liquor and topped with a Bailey's Irish Cream buttercream frosting. It is AMAZING! Super moist and full of flavor!
This one I like to call the Police Man's Special lol. It is a coffee flavored cake with coffee flavored frosting and topped with a donut-Coffee and Donut cupcakes! I even sprinkled the donuts with a bit of nutmeg to bring out the flavors a bit more!

Stay tuned, I have more to show you in the next couple of weeks!

Super Bowl Treats

This year's Super Bowl pitted the Steelers against the Packers! We were on Team Packers of course, but to celebrate, I made treats for both!

These adorable Steeler pops and football pops were shipped to PA for some Steeler fans!
Steeler cupcakes with edible candy melt logo.

Packer cupcakes also with edible logo.

Brownie Footballs!

Laces out ;)

Valentine's Day

I was pretty naughty this year and didn't take very many pictures of my valentine cake pops. That, and my camera died. :( Not to worry, just needs a new battery! But, these are 2 of the arrangements I did get a picture of.
Both of these arrangements were ordered by wives to give to their hubbys. How sweet is that??

I wish I could have gotten more pictures, but honestly, I had a lot of orders, but they pretty much were all the same thing. Maybe next year I will get better pictures up!
Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day and that your Loves were Sweet to you!

Baby Shower #2

The same friend that threw the baby shower for her sister in the last post, also threw another shower for one of her co-workers and asked if I could do just a mini cake for the party! Of course I said yes!
This time the shower was for a baby boy: Jackson! I did a pretty simple, yet adorable cake in Vanilla with Blue cream cheese frosting. Yum! I then cut out little circles of fondant in multiple colors and placed them around the sides of the cake in no particular pattern and made a cute little teddy bear to sit on top of the cake with the baby's name!
Update: My friend said the mom loved her cake! Yay!

Baby Shower!

It always seems about this time of the year, baby showers go into full bloom! So I have been super busy with baby showers this past month! This particular shower was for one of my best friend's little sister. She's expecting a baby girl: Brooke, any day now!
And because the mommy is such a cowgirl, of course Brooke's theme would be based around that as well! So, in honor of the mommy Shannon, and baby Brooke, we have a cowgirl dessert table!

These cowgirl boot cookies were used as favors to give away to the guests as a "thank you for coming!"
More cookies on the table just for guests to enjoy!

My favorite: Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries! YUM!

Mini chocolate chip cookie cupcakes in pinks and browns!

And of course a mini cake for the mommy to take home, complete with horse and baby.
The mommy-to-be looked absolutely beautiful and looked ready to pop any day now! Can't wait to meet little Brooke and I hope she enjoyed her treats as well!
