FEATURED!

I am so super excited! A while back, I emailed a picture of my Super Mario Cake pops to Bakerella-my hero-just to thank her for all her inspiration. Without her website, I would probably have never started making my own cake pops!
Well, today, while surfing the net, I decided to check out her Pop Stars link on her website. From time to time she updates this link with pictures of cake pops that other people all around the world have done.
MY CAKE POPS WERE FEATURED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is like the biggest honor I can possibly have as far as baking goes! To be featured on HER WEBSITE! She is amazing and seriously a pioneer and hero to all people who make their own cake pops. I can't even begin to tell you how awesome this makes me feel!
If you would like to see my featured cake pops, here's the link:
Check it out and check out some of the other pops featured there!
Thank you Bakerella for featuring my pops-you are a never-ending source of inspiration to me and to all cake poppers :)

Tractor Twins!

So, I was asked recently to make a birthday cake for a couple of boys on their birthday. Twin boys to be exact. They were turning 2 and their gramma wanted something with tractors on it since they live on a farm.
I knew right away I wanted to make a tractor to go on the top of this cake. I also knew I wanted to incorporate the twins on there as well.
So, I made rice krispie cereal treats and molded them into the shape of a tractor, tires, and a wagon to follow behind it. From there I made marshmallow fondant and covered each piece. After I finished the tractor, I started on the wagon. I had the wagon all covered and tried to figure out how to get the boys in the back of it. I originally wanted them in little over-alls sitting in the back, but for some reason, I just couldn't master it. Then the thought struck me. Why not put hay in the back and have the boy's heads peeking out?! PERFECT! Then the tractor looked funny with the boys in the back, but no one driving them, so I thought it would be cute to put a farm animal driving! The gramma was so excited about this cake! She was expecting something like a plain white round cake with a drawing of a tractor on top. Ha! This was WAY better!

Chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. The dirt on top is crushed oreos!
Front of the tractor! Not too bad for it being my first time! I'm really liking woring with fondant!

I also have never made people until now and I wanna keep making more! So send me your orders for decorated cakes so I can play some more!
AH! I love those lil baseball hats!

Out of Town!

Sweet Readers:
I will not be taking on any orders for the weekend of August 19th through the 22nd. I have a personal family matter and need to fly out of town for it. I will be back in the kitchen on the 23rd and back to baking up lots of different goodies then. Thank you all for your everlasting support!

Sesame Street revisited!

I got the opportunity to do another round of Sesame Street cake pops and I was super excited to do them! The mom even wanted a smash cake to go with it!
Here, Oscar the Grouch gets his very own personal trash can! lol.

I found the perfect bucket for the cake pops! I knew I wanted something that looked like a trash can and I searched everywhere and just wasn't finding anything. I was wandering around Hobby Lobby with my mom one day when we both spotted this awesome bucket!
I was afraid I wouldn't be able to fit all 24 pops in it, but I made it work! And I attached the Sesame Street sign that I made out of card stock paper. I made a "1" at the top of the sign for the lil guys FIRST birthday!
Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, Elmo and Big Bird!
And now for the Smash Cake!

Cookie Monster!!!!!! I even made his eyes out of cake balls!

I think this is my FAVORITE cake yet! I wanna make more monster cakes! lol.
